As a chemical product, thermal paste’s shelf life varies depending on the operating temperature and manufacturer. When stored sealed at room temperature, most thermal paste typically have a shelf life of 24 months. Some high-performance thermal pastes, such as Udao’s UD7960, can last for 5 years or even longer.
The theoretical maximum operating temperature is -50-200°C, and it is recommended to be used between -30-100°C. To extend the shelf life of thermal paste, it should be stored in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
The packaging must be intact to protect it from contaminants and foreign matter. If the thermal paste becomes difficult to apply, stiff, or difficult to squeeze out, it is likely expired.
